1.          Callous – Uncaring, rough

His attitude was callous and cold.

2.          Stingy – Tight with money

Do you always have to be so stingy?

3.          Reckless – Stupid risk taking

When you are reckless you endanger other people.

4.          Perceptive – Sees ahead, understands

Sometimes you are incredibly perceptive.

5.          Criminal – Commits crimes, very bad

A criminal is a danger to everyone.

6.          Incarcerate – To jail, to cage

They incarcerate people who cannot control themselves.

7.          Imperative – Necessary, must be done

It is imperative that we obey the laws of our society.

8.          Felony – A serious crime

You go to prison for six months or more for a felony.

9.          Misdemeanor – A minor crime

Those who commit a misdemeanor can get time in a county jail.

10.      Plaintive – Weak cries for help

I became aware of the kitten’s plaintive cries.

11.      Plaintiff – One who accuses

The plaintiff accused the defendant of robbery.

12.      Suit – A set of clothes

Are you wearing your new blue suit?

13.      Suite – A group of rooms

They put us into the presidential suite at no extra charge.

14.      Site –A place, a location

Our school is a voting site.

15.      Situate – Arrange, settle

They will try to situate you as quickly as possible.

16.      Situation – A set of events

This is a very bad situation for both of us.

17.      Predicament – A problem, trouble

You got yourself into this predicament.

18.      Predator – One who hunts others

The grizzly bear is a predator I would never want to face.

19.      Predict – Tell in advance, foretell

Is it possible to predict what their decision may be?

20.      Pronounce – State, give a decision

It is very hard to pronounce your name correctly.

 

21.      Wings – Attachments that permit flight

An aircraft cannot fly without wings.

22.      Wasps – Flying, stinging insects

He was stung several times by the wasps.

23.      Wiggles – Squirms

If that pig wiggles one more time I’m going to scream.

24.      Washes – Cleans, scrubs

Make sure he washes the roof of the car too.

25.      Wastes – Throws away, misuses

No one wastes more water than our neighbor.
