1.            Performance – A show

The performance was really wonderful to watch.

2.            Chorus – A group of singers

When the chorus sang, the sound was huge.

3.            Orchestra – A group of instrument players

My daughter is in the city orchestra.

4.            Scenery – Background pictures, the view

We spent the evening painting scenery for tomorrow’s play.

5.            Scenes – Parts of a play, pictures

Several scenes in the play were very intense!

6.            Lecture – An informative talk

His last lecture was about the Civil War.

7.            Microphones – Devices to make sounds louder

Please stand closer to the microphone so we can all hear you.

8.            Theater – A place to put on shows

We try to go to the theater at least once a month.

9.            Admission – The cost of a ticket

The admission price for good seats had really gone up.

10.       Entertainment – a show, enjoying a show

I do not consider that kind of junk to be entertainment.

  1.    Exited – Left, went out

The actors exited to the left side of the stage.

  1.    Symphony – Musical numbers played by an orchestra

The symphony was more beautiful than I remembered.

  1.    Auditorium – A sound threater

The sound in the new auditorium is incredible!

  1.    Director – The leader of an orchestra or show

The director raised his baton and everyone fell silent.

16.       Choreography – Organized dance or movement

The dance choreography was some of the best I have ever seen!

17.       Intermission – A break, a recess

They are going to have an intermission in about ten minutes.

18.       Reservations – To have a seat saved

I hope our reservations are still good.

19.       Publicity – Telling people about a show

There has been a lot of advance publicity for this performance.

20.       Delightful – Pleasant, nice

The little cakes they served at the intermission were just delightful.
