1. Beak - Rigid projecting mouth structures
Look at the size of the beak on that bird!
2. Feathers - Light horny epidermal outgrowths that form the external covering of the body of birds
Eagle feathers were very special for American Indians.
3. Canoe - Light narrow boat with sharp ends, usually moved by paddling
The canoe moved silently up the river.
4. Humans - Bipedal primate mammal (Homo sapiens)
Humans are at the top of the food chain.
5. Occupants – Those inside a thing
How many occupants stay in that apartment?
6. Beaver- Large, semi-aquatic, herbivorous rodent
The beaver angrily slapped its tail on the water.
7. Swimming – To propel oneself in water
He was swimming with all his strength against the current.
8. Trees - Woody perennial plant with a single elongated main stem
They cut down fifty trees to provide firewood for their stove.
9. Raptor – A bird that hunts
The raptor torn at the flesh of the dead rabbit.
10. Talons – The piercing claws of a raptor
The fish hung from the talons of the eagle.
11. Contrail – Jet exhaust vapor at high altitude
I can see the contrail of the plane but cannot hear the engines.
12. Ripples – Small waves in water
The little ripples moved out from where the pebble entered the water.
13. Branch – A part that sticks out or separates
You will have to cut off the lowest tree branch.
14. Radiation – Energy waves away from a source
The Sun gives off tremendous amounts of deadly radiation.
15. Perch – Sit on, a place to sit
Why would a bird perch on a high voltage electrical wire?
16. Pupil – The dark part in the center of an eye, a student
As the light diminished his pupil grew larger.
17. Cornea – The Colored part of the eye around the pupil
The doctor said I have a scratch on my cornea.
18. Lapping – A liquid making a slapping sound
The waves made a soft lapping sound on the shoreline.
19. Peak – The highest part
They took pictures when they reached the mountain peak.
20. Base – The bottom or foundation
The base of the tower was beginning to crumble.
