1. Imbibe - To drink, usually referring to alcoholic beverages
That man loves to imbibe.
2. Articulate - To say clearly and understandably
I am unable to articulate my feelings right now.
3. Pensive - Thoughtful, deep in thought
Why are you always so pensive?
4. Generic - A common example of a type of thing, a basic form
I took acetaminophen which is generic Tylenol.
5. Remote - Far away, distant
He lived in a remote area of the forest.
6. Detest - To Intensely or violently dislike
I detest dishonesty.
7. Gracious - Considerate, pleasant and well mannered
Those two are such gracious people.
8. Predict - To foretell, to state what will happen
I don't think you can predict what will happen.
9. Kin - Relatives, those related to you
They may be kin, but I don't have to like them.
10 Apportion - To divide up, to set limits
They want to apportion our playground to make it bigger
11. Charisma - Charm or appeal
I don't go to his movies because he has no charisma.
12. Simulate - To pretend or act as if something is real
They are going to simulate an accident and then respond to it.
13. Indifferent - Not caring, uninvolved
She just seems indifferent to their suffering.
14. Banish - To send away and forbid returning
If you do this they will banish you from your homeland.
15. Jovial - Happy, cheerful, gay
That old woman is incredibly jovial today.
16. Fraud - To steal by trickery, to fool people in order to steal
This watch is a fake and selling it for the real thing is a fraud.
17. Stentorian - To speak in a loud and powerful voice
The actor has a wonderful stentorian voice.
18. Gauche - Rude, crude, or badly done
That behavior is so terribly gauche.
19. Sanctuary - A safe and protected place or condition
Illegal aliens are given sanctuary in Denver, Colorado.
20. Frolic - To run and play happily
We watched the children frolic in the back yard.
21. Perceptive - Able to see and understand things
My mother is an incredibly perceptive person.
22. Snippy - Quick to say negative things
Your teacher seems to be a little snippy today.
23. Partial - Incomplete, partly done, to favor and like
I am partial to Cold Stones ice cream.
24. Cancer - Abnormal tissue growth that replaces normal cells
My uncle smoked his whole life and died of lung cancer.
25. Picky - Squeamish, very particular
Has she always been so picky about food?
