3. Handling – Processing, touching, moving around

4. Residents – Those living in a place or area
Several of the residents complained about the noise.
5. Global – Around the world, international
A global business serves many countries around the world.
6. Nominee – One who has been selected, chosen, or picked
My cousin was a nominee for Miss Lancaster of 2006.
7. Sworn – Having taken an oath, pledged, promised
Government officials are sworn in by taking an oath of service.
8. Supreme – Highest, most important, top
The Supreme Court of the United States is the highest court.
9. Justice – A judge, the legal process
My brother was married by a judge who is a Justice of the Peace.
10. Fungus – An ancient plant that can infect animals (humans)
This fungus makes my feet itch when they get sweaty.

There are many factors that go into a tough decision like this.
16. Amphibian – Able to live on land and in water
The toad is an amphibian that can live on land or water.
17. Culprit – The guilty or responsible one
The raccoon turned out to be the real culprit.
18. Phantom – An imaginary, spooky, ghost-like figure
We listened to “Phantom of the Opera” all evening.
19. Broadway – A famous street in New York with many theaters
I’ve never been to either Broadway or Wall Street in New York.
20. Opera – A play that is entirely sung
You have to know the story in order to enjoy an opera.
