1.             Mistake – An error, a wrong decision

I made a mistake and I am so sorry.

2.             Horrible – Terrible, awful, unthinkable

The injuries caused by the accident were really horrible.

3.             Badge – A metal, cloth, or other emblem

He wore a badge that identified him a detective.

4.             Radio – An electronic device that may send and receive signals

Mr. Coleman has a radio and carries it with him.

5.             Bulletin – An announcement, an update

Our school bulletin forgot to mention the dance.

6.             Regular – Routine, everyday, always at the same time

We go to computer lab on a very regular basis.

7.             Superman – A fictional comic book figure of super strength

The actor who played Superman in the movie died last year.

8.             Raincoats – Outer garments worn to protect from the rain

They wore raincoats but there was no rain.

9.             Wallet – a flat, folding envelope of plastic or leather

He brought out his wallet and identified himself.

10.         Expecting – Anticipating, waiting for, looking for

Papa seemed to be expecting the visit from the police.

11.         Realize – To understand, to create something

I did not realize what a terrible thing was happening to my family.

  1.    Hide – Put out of sight, conceal

I tried to hide my radio but someone found it and took it.

  1.    Probably – Likely, a good chance

It was probably someone I know.

The fish must be caught, brought in, and then killed.

  1.    Wounded – Injured, hurt

A wounded animal can be very dangerous.

She shrugged her shoulders and said it was no longer her problem.

  1.    Pectoral – Related to the chest and chest muscles

The great marlin had deep purple colored pectoral fins.

  1.    Gamecock – A male chicken or game bird trained to fight, rooster

It is illegal to use fights between gamecocks for gambling.

  1.    Fins – Flat control surfaces that act against air or water

The pectoral fins of the great fish were sharp like scythes.

  1.    Spur – A sharp, bone-like claw on a rooster’s leg, a projection

The gamecock attacked the other bird with his spur and wounded it.
